On August 18, 2023, Plaridel Municipal Mayor Hon. Gadwin E. Handumon delivered his first State of the Municipality Address. The event was attended by esteemed guests and government officials, most notably the presence of Misamis Occidental Provincial Governor Hon. Henry S. Oaminal, 1st District Representative Hon. Jason P. Almonte, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, Local Chief Executives, LGU Officials along with Department Heads, and guests from various government sectors. In his speech, Mayor Handumon thanked the people of Plaridel for their trust and support for his administration. Acknowledging the challenges faced by the municipality in the past year but expressed optimism and hope for the future through the plans and projects highlighted during the program. From infrastructure to community development and good governance, the Honorable Mayor reported his accomplishments and expressed his appreciation for the efforts and the vision for Plaridel’s future under his leadership igniting a spark of hope amongst his constituents for true change and development in the municipality. Continuing to follow the 5Ms: Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malamboon, ug Malipayon, Mayor Handumon concluded his address by expressing his commitment to serving the people of Plaridel with integrity, selfless service, coordination, and dedication together towards a brighter future for the municipality. Along with the SOMA, the LGU also conducted the blessing of the newly renovated municipal hall ground floor, the ground-breaking ceremony for the redevelopment of the Plaridel Municipal Plaza, and the Ceremonial Switch-On of the Polo-Bato Electrification project.
Overall, Mayor Handumon’s first State of the Municipality Address was a successful event highlighting the achievements of the past year, outlining the plans for the future of Plaridel, and emphasizing the importance of partnerships in achieving the municipality’s goals.
































































































































































The Katipunan Elementary School held a momentous event on August 24, 2023, to mark the official turnover and dedication of its newly constructed school building. The turn-over and dedication ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Plaridel Municipal Mayor Hon. Gadwin E. Handumon, Sangguniang Bayan Member Hon. Marilou Yap, and Hon. Gerald Tatad. Also present were DepEd Misamis Occidental School District Superintendent Mr. Renaldo Manuel and Plaridel South District Supervisor Ms. Nelia Lanzaderas.
The completion of the school building at Katipunan Elementary School signifies a significant milestone in the pursuit of quality education for the students in the area. This project serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Local Government Unit of Plaridel, DepEd, and the community of Brgy. Katipunan in providing an environment conducive to learning and development. The newly constructed school building stands as a testament to the collective efforts and commitment towards empowering young students.
